Weekend Recap
Since I disappeared into the Appalachian Mountains this past weekend, I thought it best to recap the news throughout the weekend. Here are the big stories,
- Dana White is off to Quebec to save UFC 97. Personally this feels reminiscent to when John McCain canceled his campaign to save the economy.
- An explanation as to why the QAC suddenly decided to change their MMA rules.
- George St. Pierre and Thiago Alves will meet at UFC 100 in Las Vegas.
- Two writers (here and here) are pumped about Strikeforce. And I am inclined to agree, competition is a good thing, monopolies are a bad thing.
- K.J. Noons is not fighting Josh Thomson in April.
- Matt Arroyo got the axe from the UFC. Another blow to recent Ultimate Fighter's. Resse Andy also joins the list of the recently unemployed.
- If one needed further proof that The Ultimate Fighter is no longer a talent farm, but instead a frat house reality show, then here is the latest bit of evidence. Junie Browning's brother Robert Browning will be on the ninth season. Of course he causes trouble, can't wait to see the show...
