Jake Shields, the former EliteXC welterweight champion, appears to have finalized a deal with Strikeforce. He is now set to face off against Joe Riggs at Strikeforce's April 11th show.
Jake Shields was considered the best fighter within EliteXC. Shields put together an eleven fight win streak that catapulted him to the top of many sites top-ten ranking. Shields' holds a Cesar Gracie jiu-jitsu black belt.
Joe Riggs is a former UFC veteran who went .500 in his career inside the Octagon. Riggs joined Strikeforce and headlined Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion in 2007. Riggs is 2-2 in his four fights with Strikeforce.
