UFC 97 still on for Montreal

Ufc971_medium

It appears that a compromise has been reached with UFC executives and the Quebec Athletic Commission.

UFC 97 was cast in doubt when the QAC decided to enforce MMA rules that disallowed knees and elbow strikes. The catalysts for their decision was a near riot at a MMA event in Montreal promted by Strikebox.

It now appears that UFC 97 will take place using the North American Unified Rules.
