WKR gambling advice for UFC 95
It's that time for WKR's gambling advice for UFC 95. I have a confession to make about this post. I won't be betting on anything at UFC 95, because I hate all the odds for this fight card. Now if I had been on top of my gambling habit I would of placed a sizeable chunk of my paycheck on Diego Sanchez when the initial lines were set. Too bad Diego moved up from -180 to -290! Now if my gambling site allowed parlays I would be in heaven with so many of the favored fighters being in the -200 range. Oh well, it looks like I will need another way to emulate Pete Rose.
Still I feel like I am cheating by not offering some gambling advice. But since I am not actually betting take it all with a grain of salt. Here we go,
Diego Sanchez (-295) over Joe Stevenson (+281)
I know it is incredibly unoriginal, but Luke Thomas and Dave Meltzer did an excellent job of breaking down why Diego will win. So if you have a little money that you would like to add to, possibly save up for that strip club visit, this is a safe bet. Now it will only net you about .3 units for each unit bet, so don't be thinking this will make you a rich man or woman.
Mike Ciesnolevicz (-115) over Neil Grove (+105)
I don't know enough about these two fighters to feel confident enough to put real money down on it. But I like Ciesnolevicz's pedigree and experience. He is a Miletich fighter who fought in the IFL. Compare that to Grove who is an English fighter making his UFC debut. If there is one thing we have learned in recent years, its that if your British and your name isn't Bisping you will probably lose to the American. Sorry chaps but that's just the way it is. You know what I think I will bet on this fight after all.
Junior dos Santos (-260 ) vs. Stefan Struve (+240)
Junior dos Santos earned a bunch of UFC capital with is KO victory over Fabricio Werdum. No way is Joe Silva or Dana White going to waste a talented heavyweight without building him up some more. That is why Santos is on the undercard fighting Struve. Granted we didn't get to see the real dos Santos in his fight with Werdum, on account of it being so quick, so there is risk involved. But I feel confident in Joe Silva's matchmaking ability to build up another young heavyweight fighter. Once again it doesn't pay off very well but it is a nice safe bet.
