Josh Thomson vs. Gilbert Melendez added to Strikeforce's April card

Fiveouncesofpain is reporting that Strikeforce just added another bout to their April 11th card on Showtime. Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson will fight Gilbert Melendez.

This fight will be a rematch between Josh Thomson and Gilbert Melendez. Over a year ago Josh Thomson won the title in a five round unanimous decision.

It was initially rumored that Thomson would fight EliteXC lightweight champion K.J. Noons. It was also rumored that UFC veteran Jorge Grugel would fight, however he is still rehabbing an injury.

The Strikeforce card now features the following bouts,

• Nick Diaz vs. Frank Shamrock
• Champ Josh Thomson vs. Gilbert Melendez
  
• Joe Riggs vs. Jake Shields
• Benji Radach vs. Scott Smith
• Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos vs. TBA

Tickets also went on sale yesterday for Strikeforce's April 11th event in San Jose, California.
