Strikeforce to buy ProElite
Michael Rome had it first but SI.com is now reporting that Strikeforce has agreed in principle to buy assets from ProElite
Both ProElite CEO Chuck Champion, who has been criticized for his handling of a sale that put the company's fighters in limbo for four months, and Strikeforce chief Scott Coker denied that any deal is in place. Yet, various sources speaking on the condition of anonymity with intimate knowledge of the negotiations told SI.com that Strikeforce is poised to attain the assets. An official announcement could come by the end of the week.
Can't wait for the rest of the details, do we get to see Kimbo-Petruzelli II now?

I don’t think the contracts are transferrable…so in a sense those guys should be free agents….and can choose where they want to fight. Kinda how the PRIDE/UFC then went down.

I feel better now. At least Jake Shields will have some competition.
I was thinking. There really is only one remotely interesting fight he could have outside of the UFC and that would be with Shinya Aoki, if he moved back to welterweight. And even that would just look exactly like the fight we saw on Saturday, only featuring guys with hair.
