Possible fights for Strikeforce

Now that ProElite has been officially sold it is time to dream up some fights that we, as fans, would like to see.

  • Robbie Lawler vs. Cung Le - This is right at the top of my list. Lawler was climbing the middleweight rankings with solid wins over Scott Smith and Ninja Rua, leading many to speculate he could end up back in the UFC. Cung Le foguht a memorable fight of the year bout with Frank Shamrock for the Strikeforce middleweight belt. Since both fighter's hold the respective championships within the former distinct promotions a fight here makes perfect sense.
  • Gina Carano vs. Cristiane 'Cyborg' Santos - This has potential to be one of the most hyped and most action packed female fight in MMA history. Can we please, pretty please, make this happen?
  • Nick Diaz vs. K.J. Noons - I want this fight to happen not so much because I think it will be a good fight, but more because I just want to see Nick Diaz be Nick Diaz
  • Eddie Alvarez vs. Gilbert Melendez - Both fighters are exciting lightweights coming off losses. Alvarez may be fighting for Dream but he did fight for ShowXC in January 2008. The winner of this bout could be set up to fight current lightweight champion Josh Thomson.
  • Jake Sheilds in the UFC- Let's face facts the UFC owns the welterweight division. I want to see Sheilds, a fighter many consider to be a top-5 welterweight, fight against the best in the UFC's stacked division.
  • Antonio Silva vs. Kimbo Slice - Never in a million years is this goig to happen, but it would be funny to watch Kimbo get knocked out by a real fighter. Sorry Seth, anyone who dresses like that isn't a real fighter.
  • Alistair Overeem vs. Antonio Silva - Since the Kimbo fight will never (and really shouldn't) happen then why not have two heavyweight fighter's suspected of taking steroids, fight each other. Overeem last fought for Strikeforce in 2007 and Silva is still under suspension by the CSAC, but this would be a high intensity heavyweight bout that coudl garner a great deal of attention.
