Report: Demian Maia to receive title shot

Cagepotato is reporting that middleweight standout Demian Maia will receive a title shot.

A source close to the camp of UFC middleweight contender Demian Maia has informed Cage Potato that the Brazilian is expected to be offered the next middleweight title shot against the winner of the Anderson Silva/Thales Leites bout (in other words, Silva) late this summer.

There's no official date set, but our source says Maia's camp is expecting the bout to take place in late August, which would most likely put it at UFC 102 in Portland, Ore. 

This is welcomed news for fans who have seen Maia effortless dispatch five UFC middleweights. Maia is a perfect 10-0 with nine of his victories coming via submission. Demian Maia has become the bench mark for all Brazilian Jiu-Jistu fighters. Whomever Maia fights it will be sure to garner the interest of Jiu-Jistu enthusiasts.
