UFC may be going 'Down Under'
The UFC may be going 'down under' in 2010.
That's right, the premiere North American MMA promotion may finally cross the equator to put on an event in Australia.
Fighter's Only Magazine broke the story.
According to them a fight could be held this February at the Acer Arena in Sydney. The Arena holds 20,000 fans.
The UFC likes to put local fighters on their overseas card. Since the UFC is lacking in the Australian fighter department maybe they will need to look elsewhere to promote the fight. Perhaps a 'Beyond Thunderdome' match between Crocodile Dundee and Mel Gibson?

The UFC as a product, both marketing-wise and entertainment-wise, is to Ango-centric to really have Filipino expansion.
Unless they find MMA’s version of Manny Pacquiao.

well there’s vera, nover, munoz, and buchollz… but i guess youre right, and vera’s disappointing performances have derailed the UFC’s plans to go here in 2009 as they announced..

If Vera can get his act together then there is a real possibility for a fightcard there.
