B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian set for UFC 101

The UFC officially announced B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian for the lightweight title this August at UFC 101.

Penn vs. Florian will be the main event for UFC 101. This will be the first UFC event in the state of Pennsylvania and the city of Philadelphia.

Kenny Florian (11-3) is currently riding a six fight win streak and has been the number one lightweight contender since November 2008 when he defeated Joe Stevenson. Yet Florian had to wait for the mega bout between with George St. Pierre and B.J. Penn.

Penn lost that bout, which would become known as 'grease gate' due to Penn's allegations against St. Pierre.

B.J. Penn (13-5-1) is undefeated in the UFC's lightweight division since the organization re-constituted the division.
