Dana White lashes out against E:60
Dana White won't yield an inch.
White has officially responded to the E:60 profile piece to the Boston Herald and has called the profile, "a piece of (expletive)."
White wasn't done there targeting Bob Reilly, Tito Ortiz and Pat Miletich,
"Pat Miletich is a very bitter guy right now," White said. "Pat is not one of the smartest people you're ever going to meet. He sees these guys around him, like Tim Sylvia, who made a couple million bucks in his career. ... Pat Miletich hasn't made any money because he's not a smart guy. It's not my fault Pat Miletich is a (expletive) dummy."
White also defended his colorful use of the English language, decrying PC culture,
"I have a lot of attorneys that could write (expletive) speeches for me every time I talk," White said. "I have three attorneys in the car right now. I can have them tell me everything they (expletive) want me to say. Is that what you want? Is that what the fans want? Is that what people want? I can do that. It would give me a lot less (expletive) headaches. Sure I could do that and be a phony like all the other guys, if that's what everybody wants."
Reading these quotes and it appears that White is a raving mad man. Of course that isn't true but it is odd to refocus on the E:60 profile, especially when it was such a non-story.
ESPN's investigative unit, E:60, recently ran a profile piece. In the lead up to it being aired White described it as a 'hatchet job' and ESPN personal described it as 'controversial'. Both media outlets were wrong in their spinning.
The general impression from the MMA community was that the piece was neither hatchet nor controversial. That it was in fact fluff passed off as meaningful journalism. With ESPN failing to report correctly on the 'Unified Rules' while casually dismissing issues like Jon Fitch, fighter pay and expansion in favor of discussing White's bravado with the word f@#k.
