John Hackleman wants everyone to play nice
John Hackleman is offering an olive branch to Dana White in an attempt to end their ugly war of words.
"I hate that Dana and I can't get along, and we're always fighting," said Hackleman. "We have in the past, and we've tried to make up for Chuck, because it really bothers Chuck. I've reached out to Dana, and I've tried to call him many times."
Hackleman goes on to talk about Liddell's planned trip to Hawaii and that 'The Iceman' is a "young 39." Whatever the hell that means.
One thing that is fast becoming apparent in the back-and-forth between the UFC President and Liddell's trainer, is that both have slightly different visions for Liddell. Hackleman wants Liddell's presence at his gym "The Pit" where White wants Liddell in a role at the UFC. Could this possibly be the source of the friction?
Now if Liddell truly wants to fight again he needs to have a certain level of passion in order to put in the necessary work to fight as a forty year old (realistically that is how old Liddell would be). Right now we are not seeing that level of dedication. Instead Liddell is going around on vacation and partying. Someone should tell him that is what retirement is, going around vacationing. Which means he is essentially already retired.
Basically I think we all want an end to this before it turns into the equivalent of Brett Farve (he's a young 39 too!).
