Affliction comments on 'Trilogy' status and possible fourth show
Affliction presented the poster for their third show, dubbed "Trilogy", earlier this today. The fight promotion has also been rolling out several fight announcements for some time. Affliction will also hold a press conference on June 3rd.
There is some confusion regarding the name choice of Affliction's third event. As reader Steve W pointed out, the title 'Trilogy' elicits feelings of finality.
Well Ariel Helwani of MMA Fanhouse picked up on the same storyline and asked Affliction COO, Michael D. Cohen, about it.
Ariel Helwani: This event is called "Trilogy." Does that mean it will be the final MMA show for Affliction?
Michael D. Cohen: Trilogy just means that this is the third. This is the third of the series.
So, Affliction Entertainment will not stop promoting more MMA shows after August 1?
Absolutely not. What it should indicate to people is that this is just the third event that Affliction will be promoting, and I can assure you that there will be a fourth; a fifth; and a sixth.
Will the fourth one be in 2009?
It's most probable.
Someone might want to explain to Michael D. Cohen what Trilogy means.

Yeeeeeah...
I’m going to go ahead and not buy that.
Things that mean “three”: three, 3, third, 3rd, holding up three fingers
Things that mean “one thing in three parts”: trilogy, trinity, three thirds, 3/3
That’s like stenciling “Honda Civic” onto your GM truck and wondering why people get confused.
