Jason MacDonald has been cut

Jason 'The Athlete' MacDonald has received his pink slip from the UFC.
MacDonald joins an ever growing list of fighters that have been cut by the UFC as the organization slims its roster.
MacDonald is on a two fight losing streak and is 2-4 in his past six fights. Despite his recent slide many thought he was safe due to his previous work in the division with wins over fighters such as Ed Herman, Chris Leben and Jason Lambert.
While MacDonald feasted on TUF alums he was unable to move past gatekeeper in the middleweight division, losing to Rich Franklin, Yushin Okami and Demian Maia. Not an awful showing considering that many have these three in the top-five of the middleweight division.
But in the end not even Jason's nationality, he's Canadian, could save him from being shown the door.

This sucks; he’s a decent all-around fighter and a very open, honest guy who is good to the fans. But what the fuck he was doing losing to Irvin is beyond me.
Maybe this will convince him to get a better camp; he wouldn’t be the only person to get out of Edmonton (and away from Mark Pavelich) lately.
