Dr. Phil prepare to meet the UFC

Dr_phil-729384_medium

Heads up daytime television viewing public because Dr. Phil is being invaded by the UFC.

According to MMA Junkie Dana White, Forrest Griffin and Kenny Florian all recently appeared on a taped episode of the Dr. Phil show dealing with, "aspiring fighters who are practicing their craft in dangerous situations."

I know most of us thought that the first MMA fighter to be a featured guest on day time television would of been Ken Shamrock on the Jerry Springer show but hey we can't be right about everything.

The episode will air on Thursday May 14th.

Now if you are a pessimist you may see this action by the UFC and Dana White as a way to distract, or debunk, a reportedly negative piece from E:60 that will be aired on May 12th.

[UPDATE: Note by Zak Woods, 05/07/09 7:43 PM EDT]

I have been informed by Dann of MMA Junkie that the actual date for the show is May 15th not the 14th. Sorry for the screw up in your DVR schedule.

Will not watch

Dr. Phil optimizes so many wrong things. He provides dangerous advise and is strictly a celebrity. His fame and reputation are built upon people who are most vulnerable and the most ignorant. I am pumped that MMA will hit prime time, but i still refuse to watch for the same reasons i refuse to shop at Wal-Mart (go Target). However, great idea to bring Florian (educated and intelligent, which are not the same) and Griffin (funny and charismatic).

yeah

He’s a snake oil salesman.

But I will watch to see how White handles some questions regarding misogyny.
