Takanori Gomi may be coming to America

Takanori Gomi's attempt to catch the UFC's eyes may have failed but that doesn't mean he isn't coming to the United States.
MMA Weekly is reporting that Takanori Gomi is in negotiations with Affliction to fight Brian Cooper at Affliction "Trilogy".
Takanori Gomi (30-5) is the former Pride lightweight champion and former Shooto welterweight champion. Gomi was once considered to be one of the top, if not the best, lightweight fighters in the world. Gomi recently rebounded from a two fight losing streak with a victory over Takashi Nakakura on May 10th.
Whether Gomi is returning to dominant form is still yet to be seen.

MMA Fanhouse is reporting that the bout is not happening.
