Wanderlei, not next in line for middleweight title shot
During UFC 99's countdown show there was a great deal of discussion regarding Anderson Silva and Wanderlei Silva leading to speculation of a potential middleweight title fight later this year.
Michael Smith of MMA Fanhouse talked to Dana White and found out this was not the case,
"Should Wanderlei win tomorrow, I actually think that Bisping would be next in line, should he beat Dan Henderson. Then maybe you have Wanderlei fight Marquardt. Who knows? But we have all those different scenarios that could happen. It's exciting. It's good for the 185-pound division."
Thank the lord. Hallelujah. Not that I am craving to see Micahel Bisping in a title fight, but if Wanderlei got a title shot after one win that would have been ridiculous.

yeah, not like Wanderlei held the pride belt for 5 years and crushed a ton of notable fighters…..yeah….he’s not much compared to Bisping’s track record. Bisping will only beat Henderson with british judges. period. would Bisping ever step in against CroCop? Not a chance. Wanderlei would have gladly faced Fedor if given the opportunity…..you’re talking about a man that floored Fujita who is the king of iron skulls……seriously. the man is a legend. and the feud with him and Anderson’s as good as Brazil vs Brazil hate could be…..Bisping will get chopped into pieces by Anderson. esp if he pulls a run fest like he did against Hammil and Leben.
Gatti. Dekkers. Pele. Aoki. Kang. Vanderlei.

i do not think that bisping has a shot of winning or is the right pick. But Wanderlei pride days are in the past. He is 1-4 in his past 5 fights. If he got a title shot because of one fight it would clearly be for ratings and not on his merit. Hall of Fame career-absolutely, deserving of current title shot-no. Bisping will get smoked by Silva, but at least he would be coming in on winning streak,
