Cage Cast Episode 8: TUF 9

Cage Cast is back!

This week we talk about the ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter and whether or not the show has improved. We also preview the The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale. We try to answer the question whether Joe Stevenson is in danger of being cut by the UFC. We also talk about whether the winner of Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida will garner a title shot.

Also up for discussion is Strikeforce and their business affiliation with Showtime. Of course anytime you talk about "Cyborg" Santos it leads to a discussion of Gina Carano and the role of women in MMA, right?

Finally we touch on Bellator's last show of the season and who will win the respective lightweight and middleweight belts.

i am definitely game. Since my work schedule is so crazy it makes it more difficult. If you know when you are going to do (like 1 or 2 days notice) i can know if i can do it.

Great show!

Great show! Very well done. You guys are both obviously very knowledgeable and the topics were valuable. Thanks for turning me on to it Spence.

The reason Sanchez lost to Koscheck was NOT because Koscheck is a better wrestler. It was because Sanchez thought he was some great boxer all of the sudden. When Koscheck tried to take Sanchez down, he lost position and his corner instructed him to keep it standing.

Fitch on the other hand, did an amazing job escaping from three tight submissions if I recall correctly.

Was Gurgel ignoring his BJJ when he was submitted by Cole Miller? Seriously, I can understand guys like Gurgel and Sherk ignoring their bread and butter in hopes of a payday, but they have to realize when they need to cut their losses and change their game plan mid fight.

Good point about Sanchez and his boxing in the Kos fight.
