How prepared is Kimbo?

The end of TUF 9 was overshadowed with announcement of the cast for season 10, a cast that included several NFL veterans, former IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson and this guy from Miami you may have heard of called Kimob.

A lot of discussion surrounding the former EliteXC fighter, porn bouncer (wait he still does that) and youtube brawler dealt with how much work Kimbo would put into his stint on TUF.

Dana White seems fairly confident that Kimbo is serious,

"I tell you what, [on the first day of shooting] ... he walked in the gym, let me tell you what he's pretty serious. He wasn't messing around, he wasn't joking, he wasn't laughing."

Perhaps Slice is taking it seriously, however White has been known to exaggerate about the fighters on TUF before, Phillipe Nover being the most recent example.

A better indicator of how serious Kimbo is taking his stint on TUF may be the amount of work he put into it before hand. How much you ask, not a whole lot, just a single month of training with his old striking coach.

It's amazing...

how many people, who know absolutely nothing about MMA, know about Kimbo being on TUF10. I’m sure it’s a HW thing but you don’t see the same celebrity for Robbie Lawler for instance. I think it’s more than just the hype from Track Suit, there is something in his character that captures the uninitiated.
