Some more info regarding EA MMA 2010

What we know right now,
- It will be cross platforms being featured on Xbox360 and PS3
- It is set to come out in 2010 though no official date.
- Frank Shamrock has been involved with game since Novemeber 2008
- And that is about it...
There is very little concrete information about the game but there is a great deal of speculation. Due to MMA Payout's earlier profile on Frank Shamrock it is safe to conclude that Frank was involved with the game in some manner. Whether that means that EA bought a ProElite or Strikeforce license is up for dispute but we can expect that you will be able to fight as Frank.
EA Sports may be the publisher but the actual studio that is developing EA's MMA game is Tiburon. Some of you may know Tiburon as the developer responsible for a little known NFL game called Madden. Tiburon was also ranked as the #9 game developer last year. EA does have some experience with fight games such as Fight Night Round 4.
Personally I think this is EA trying to hurt a competitor while they are down. While it won't directly affect UFC 2009 Undisputed sales it may be EA trying to position themselves to get the UFC license if THQ goes down.
The official site is somewhat of desert with nothing more than a newsletter sign up and a forum.

Competition is never a bad thing, but if EA (Tiburon) thinks they have any chance at denting the UFC stranglehold on the market by putting out a game with Strikeforce / EltieXC guys starring Frank Shamrock as the big name, they have another thing coming.
Although the position for THQ’s imminent demise angle could yield some seriously awesome returns…
Bottom line: I really need to go out and Undisputed already.
It’ll be hard to top Undisputed. MMA is so difficult to convert to a video game. EA do a great job on the Fight Night franchise so maybe they’ll do a good job

At least you can guarantee massive production values. EA normally have no problem pumping cash into their sports titles
