The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale Results and Commentary
Tonight WKR will be providing live results and commentary for The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale.
In the main event Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida fight for the right to be number one contender in the lightweight division. Can Guida finally break through the lightweight ranks or will he be stopped by "The Nightmare's" second fight at 155lbs?
Will Team U.S.'s last remaining team member, DeMarques Johnson be able to bring home a victory for the stars and stripes, or will Team U.K. represent the Queen and John Bull?
Also TUF 2 winner, Joe Stevenson, fights to keep his UFC career alive as he battles TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz.

Televised Card
Clay Guida vs. Diego Sanchez
Round 1- Diego pushes forward and they are just swinging! Guida's mouthpiece flew out and he is hurt. Guida circles out and Diego closes in and throws more punches. Guida covers up and Diego throws more punches. Again Diego closes in and this time Guida secures a double leg takedown and is in Diego's guard. Guida throws two elbows Guida is holding him down. Diego uses the rubber guard to get to his feet and both fighters are bleeding though Guida is bleeding worse. Brief break in action to get Guida's mouthpiece back in. The action resumes and Guida is knocked down from a head kick. Somehow Clay survives and once again Diego unleashes more punches. Clay pushes Diego into the cage and there is a minute left in the round. Diego takes Clay down and is in half guard. Sancehz takes the first round 10-9.
Round 2- Diego looks for a head kick but this time it doesn't land. Guida is circling from the outside and shoots in for a takedown. Clay is in Sanchez's guard and Diego tries to throw some elbows. Guida is keeping active but isn't doing a lot of damage. Three minutes left in the round and Diego is going for a kimura. Guida breaks through and begins some solid ground-and-pound. Chants of Guida start up in the crowd. Diego begins throwing some strong elbows from the bottom. Guida pushes Sanchez up against the cage and lands an elbow. Guida begins to get very active in the guard and Diego is covered in blood. Whether it is his or not is another question. WKR thinks Clay wins this round based upon position.
Round 3- Guida pushes forward and lands a leg kick. Sanchez tries some boxing but doesn't land any blows. Both are tentative as they continue to circle. Again the chants of Guida fill the arena. Diego lands an uppercut and Guida couldn't secure the single leg. Right hook from Diego is answered by a right from Guida. Solid right hand from Guida and Sanchez answers with a combination. Head kick from Sanchez but Guida blocks it. Guida shoots and Diego counters and gets Guida's back but Clay spins out and is now on top. Only eighty seconds left. Both fighters are covered in blood and sweat and Diego goes for a kimura again. Ten seconds left and Guida answers with a flurry at the end. Extremely close round but WKR thinks Sanchez edge Guida out due to the counter on the takedown.

DaMarques Johnson vs. James Wilks (TUF welterweight finale)
Round 1- Wilks starts out by landing a combination and Johnson appears rocked. Johnson manages to survive and Wilks begins landing some knee in the clinch and Johnson fights back. Wilks takes Johnson down and now WIlks in his DeMarques' guard. Wilks drops for a heel hook and Johnson spins out. Now Johnson lands an elbow and then a punch. Johnson spins out but is trapped in a leg compression. DeMarques is trying to get out of the lock with elbows. Wilks locks in the triangle but Johnson somehow escapes the triangle only to have his arm trapped. Johnson gets to his feet and is then taken down again by Wilks. With thirty seconds left Wilks has both hooks in and DeMarques' back. Wilks gets the submission in with barely twenty seconds.

Kevin Burns vs. Chris Lytle
Round 1- Touch of gloves and Lytle takes the center of the Octagon. Lytle is loading u his punches and lands a few Burns responds with some leg kicks and begins to push forward. Lytle throws and overhand right and Burn responds but Lytle dodges. Another exchange and Burns lands a short right hand flush. Burns' punches are loojing crisp and clean whereas Lytle punches are wild and looping. Lytle throws two looping lefts and pushes forward. Burns lands a jab and a knee the a low blow and Lytle takes some time. With 1:21 left in the round they re-engage. Lytle is droppedby an uppercut and Lytle looks to scramble. Lytle appear to have recovered but he is still holding on to Burns and now Burns lands an elbow. Burns now unleashes a flurry of punches to end the round. Burns takes it 10-9.
Round 2- Lytle starts this round with a flush punch and Burns appears rocked. Lytle throws his own combination and Burns continues to recover. Burns then shoots in for a takedown and the fight briefly goes to the ground. They are back on their feet. Burns hands are low and Lytle goes to the body. Lylte lands another shot to the body and eats a knee from Burns. Lytle lands a right to the face and then another to the body. Burns lands another low blow and Lytle takes time. They trade leg kicks and Lytle is beginning to land more punches. Again Burns lands another low blow. The fight briefly resumes before the end of the round. Lytle takes the second round 10-9.
Round 3- Burns throws a leg kick but Lytle catches it and tags Burns with a punch and now Burns is bleeding. Burns now comes to life and begins throwing variety of leg kicks and knees. Lytle pushes forward and Burns backs up. Both fighters trade body shots and Burns tries a superman punch. Lytle is loading up his punches and land another overhand right. Burns' cut is over his left eye and each right hand is worsening the cut. Lytle lands a left hook then a body shot. Big overhand right from Lytle and Burns shudders. Lytle is pushing forward and keeps going for the right hooj. Burns pushes forward and eats a straight left Lytle pushes Burns into the cage and lands a combination before Burns circles out. Burns tries to go for the knockout with two head kicks but neither connect. There are thirty seconds left and it appears Lytle is near victory. Burns tries to sway the judges with a rally at the end but it is not enough as Lytle takes the final round.

Ross Pearson vs. Andre Winner (TUF lightweight finale)
Round 1- Both fighters trade a few jabs while Rogan and Goldberg talk about Twitter. They clinch and Winner stays active landing knees, elbows and short punches. Pearson is playing defense. The clinch battle continues with Pearson landing a knee and Winner responding with one of his own. Inadvertent low blow by Winner and Pearson takes time to recover. Both fighters come out with flurry of dirty boxing and now it is back to clinch work. Winner lands a few solid shots to end the round. Winner takes the first round 10-9.
Round 2- Pearson lands a few leg kicks. and once again they clinch. They continue to work the clinch with each fighter jockeying for position with occasional knees to the body throw in. Three minutes left in the round and Pearson tries a little dirty boxing. They clinch some more and Pearson lands a solid uppercut and Winner responds with an elbow. Left the television room to go grab a beer and they are still clinching with thirty seconds left. Neither fighter won the round, WKR scores it 10-10.
Round 3- Good combo from Winner and Pearson clinches. Again each fighter works in the clinch. Winner is the stronger fighter and is winning in the clinch by sheer athleticism. Pearson breaks and lands a leg kick and a punch. Winner gets back into the clinch and lands a few more shot. Pearson grabs a single leg and takes Winner down for a half a second and Winner is back on his feet. Finally their is some real action as each fighter unloads. Pearson gets the better of the exchange and Winner clinches again. Pearson finishes strong and secures the round in the last minute. WKR scores it 10-9 for Pearson and the fight should be a draw.
Ross Pearson def. Andre Winner via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). In my opinion should have been a draw.
Nate Diaz vs. Joe Stevenson
Round 1- Stevenson takes everyone's advice and shoots in for the takedown but is trapped in an early guillotine. Stevenson pulls out and transitions to half-guard. Stevenson forces Diaz up against the cage. Stevenson is using his wrestling to great affect. Diaz reverses Stevenson but now Joe has a guillotine and it is tight. Slowly Diaz slides out of position but his face was bright pink. Both fighters clinch and Nate Diaz eats a few knees from Stevenson. Then Diaz drops to his knee so Joe won't be able to land anymore knees to the head. Stevenson 10-9.
Round 2- Joe gets a takedown again and again Diaz tries to lock in the guillotine. Diaz gives up the submission but takes north-south position. Stevenson scrambles and they are back to their feet. Stevenson lands a few knees and again Diaz drops to the ground to force Stevenson from landing knees to the head. Joe takes Diaz down again and has side control. Joe Stevenson lands a big right hand. Diaz counters with a triangle attempt but Stevenson postures out. Diaz works to his feet and they are back in the clinch. Stevenson and Diaz begin to grapple and after thirty seconds finally gets the takedown. The round ends with Stevenson in dominant position. Again 10-9 for Stevenson.
Round 3- Diaz comes out looking to box and Joe secures the single leg and takes down Nate. Both fighters jockey for position and Nate slowly work his way to his feet and secures a judo throw takedown. Diaz is now in Stevenson's guard. Diaz is going to need to finish the fight this round and postures up and lands two blows. Diaz then transitions to a submission but Joe sprawls out to then almost give up the rear-naked choke. Joe gets to his feet and clinches with Diaz and once again starts to land knees. Diaz begins yelling at Stevenson, "Come on Joe, get to work b#tch!" Spike misses the expletive. Won't someone think of the children? With fifty seconds left they break from the clinch and Diaz pushes forward. Joe shoots in but Diaz shrugs it off. Stevenson is running the clock out and pulls it out. WKR thinks Diaz's submission attempts and aggressiveness at the end of the round give's him the final round 10-9.

- Some quick thoughts before the start of the televised card. Frank Lester's loss makes him apt for comparisons to Tommy Speer. Totally not sold on Cameron Dollar nor Jason Dent as UFC caliber fighters. Apparently Brad Blackburn received a hand out from the judges, the Junkie's response to the result was, "Wow. Just wow." Melvin Guillard's split decision victory was also controversial and no official scores were read.
