TUF 9 Finale undercard shows the importance of on site journalists

Several days ago WKR cited an article demanding that Internet MMA writers get creative and write about the UFC without the use of credentials or access to official channels. Ironic that the next UFC fight card would illustrate the reason why we need independent observers at events.

The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale preliminary card had two controversial decisions: Brad Blackburn's split decision victory over Edgar Garcia and Melvin Guillard's split decision victory over Gleison Tibau. Without reporters' eyes on the ground these two events could of easily been downplayed and misrepresented. Luckily there were MMA journalists on site to inform fans of the poor decisions.

The Ultiamte Fighter 9 Finale is a great example of why we need to be on site to effectively cover the entire event.

I couldn’t agree more.

Having people there who are willing and ready to write about the horrible decisions in both fights without any kind of bias is of great value. Otherwise, those who weren’t in attendance see Brad Blackburn and Melvin Guillard pulling out close wins, instead of knowing that they benefited from horrible judging.
