UFC 103 Rumor Mill

Wow, there is a lot of rumors currently flying around about UFC 103 which will take place in September at Dallas Texas.

The big mega-rumor is that Rich Franklin and Chuck Liddell will fight in a legacy fight co-main event. I guess that means two things. First, Dana White has accepted the fact that Liddell wants to keep getting knocked out fighting. Also, the path to the light heavyweight title goes through Liddell. That makes him a gate keeper right?

There is also a big rumor for big three heavyweight prospects. Apparently the UFC is realizing what the fans realized a while ago that Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez need to fight each other. This would probably be a number one contender bout unless Randy or Nogueira does a great job at UFC 102.

Finally, it appears that another UFC old guy legend, who was suppose to retire, could be fighting someone on their path to a title shot. That's right, Matt Hughes vs. Mike Swick is in the works.

Yep…

“We’ve got nothing of real interest and value to give you, so let’s put a bunch of people you know and love it fights that have no real impact!”

That being said, so many people just know the names Liddell, Franklin and Hughes that it would sell out and be a cash cow for the UFC. People still love to see Chuck get ~~knocked out~~ fight.

The Carwin / Velasquez rumor inspired me today…
