Lee Murray's life story a perfect Guy Ritchie film

Snatch_medium

Those who are fans of the English movie director, Guy Ritchie, know that he doesn't exactly have the ability to stretch himself creatively.

His two most popular movies are Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch which just happen to be mirror images of one another. In fact most of his movies are set in the British crime caper genre and his one attempt to go outside the niche was the disastrous Swept Away.

Enter one Lee Murray, former UFC fighter and mastermind of the most successful bank heist in British history. On top of the fact that Murray helped steal $92 million, Lee is also a legend for allegedly beating up Tito Ortiz in a street fight. Oh, I almost forgot, a year before the robbery Murray was stabbed in the chest. He was resuscitated four times during the operation that saved his life. Basically he is the real life version of this guy. After the robbery Murray fled to Morocco where he has been in and out of jail. Come on Guy, the script almost writes itself. Brad Pitt or Mark Strong could totally play Lee Murray

On a personal side note, if the Tito Ortiz incident doesn't make the final cut I would be shocked (hell, I am sure Tito will do it, he has always wanted to be a movie star).

There is already a Lee Murray biopic in the works, based on a great Sports Illustrated article on him from a few years ago.

No word on whether Guy Ritchie is attached in any way…

There’s the info on the planned film. They should definitely get Ritchie on board :)
