K.J. Noons hopes to return to MMA this year

Former EliteXC lightweight champion, K.J. Noons, is still in search of a contract with Strikeforce and a fight with Nick Diaz. In a new interview with MMA Weekly Noons reiterated his desire to fight Nick Diaz and believes that he will fight again in 2009 saying, 

"I'm for sure getting (an MMA) fight in before the year is out, I've got the Aug. 22 boxing, and then I might have one in September. I don't know. I don't want to look past Aug. 22. And then I'm going to gear up and get ready for MMA for a couple months and fight somebody by the end of the year. I'm ready."    

Noons also touched on some topics that he had previously discussed with WatchKalibRun including his split with manager Mark Dion.
