Rumor: Andrei Arlovski back to UFC?

The boys of URdirt.com looked over Arlovski's latest blog entry,

"I think it will be interesting fight, at least for me because it's Heavyweight fight, a title fight. Frank Mir he beat first time Brock Lesnar, but I'm sure Lesnar trained hard. Frank Mir had a great performance when he fought Nogueira and definitely it's going to be very interesting fight, but I think Frank Mir has a pretty good chance to beat Brock Lesnar."

Also Arlovski mentioned being close to signing with, "some MMA organization."   Pretty ambiguous but when you consider that his last two fights were for Affliction and Strikeforce and he lost both by first round knock out, who is there left to sign with?

Dream?

Is the UFC up for discussion?

Maybe it means Arlovski is working on a new contract with Strikeforce and/or Affliction.

[Update: Note by Zak Woods, 08/01/09 12:35 AM EDT ]

Dana White said he was not interested in Arlovski at yesterday's press conference.

if he gives up the boxing and focuses on MMA he is a threat for anyone in the division as long as he tucks his chin down

Let him earn his way back through TUF.

His last two performances were weeeeeeeeak.

If you see Mark Coleman in person, drop $5 on the floor and watch the fun as he tries in vain to bend down and pick it up.

Well, let's see...

Strikeforce has Werdum, Rogers and Overeem. Overeem never fights, so Arlovski would just be fighting against two guys who he has already fought. His fight in the UFC against Werdum was unbearable to watch, and Rogers kicked his ass in like 20 seconds.

Affliction has Fedor, maybe Barnett, maybe Sylvia, Rothwell, Rizzo, and a bunch of other worthless crap. Unless Affliction wants to give Arlovski another shot at Fedor, I can’t imagine him wanting to re-sign here. He has fought Sylvia 3 times already and hates him, lost to Fedor, beat Rothwell, etc. Who knows if they will even put on another show, ever.

Dream just doesn’t seem like an option for him. What’s really out there? Bob Sapp or something?

UFC would be the only thing that makes sense. Let him be the gatekeeper for the HW division or something. If you can knock AA out in under 2 minutes, you are granted access into the UFC HW division, lol.

Today's UFC Presser....

Killed this rumor.

2009 has been a nightmare for AA.

And it’s only half over
