I’ve been saying he’s an idiot – especially in his views of MMA – for quite some time. Now, after yesterday’s brilliance, I have a feeling even more people will be getting on board.

Many boxers have died. A pro wrestler died in the ring in front of thousands of people. Football players, basketball players and baseball players have died. An NHL goalie’s throat got slit on national TV. All these sports endured.

Bob Ryan, please don’t be that stodgy old sports journalist set in their ways.

I thought he actually made an effort to not come across as the dick he usually does. He took a few shots, but they were packaged to hid his particular bias.
