Randy Couture still wants Fedor

In 2007 Randy Couture attempted to sever all ties with the UFC in order to fight Fedor Emelianenko.
Couture had just defeated Tim Sylvia for the heavyweight title in March and followed that victory with another over Gabriel Gonzaga. It appeared that the cupboard of the UFC heavyweight division was completely bare and Couture resigned in order to orchestrate a fight with Fedor Emelianenko. It never came to fruition as an ugly legal battle between Couture and the UFC ensued.
Two years later and Randy re-entered the UFC to lose his heavyweight title to Brock Lesnar and is now preparing to fight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in August. But that doesn't mean Fedor to the UFC talk has disappaered.
Brock Lesnar's victory over Frank Mir and Dana White's post-fight comments rekindled the firestorm surrounding the possibility of seeing the best heavyweight in the UFC.
However, the possibility of Fedor in the UFC doesn't mean Couture has given up on his attempt to fight "The Last Emperor." Couture recently commented on the situation to Steve Cofield saying,
"Not only do I think I deserve a shot at him, it kind of part of the agreement in settling our differences in coming back to the UFC, is they were going to be diligent about trying to find a way to make that fight happen."
Nice to see that Randy is still pursuing big fights but I thought he wanted to fight Machida not Fedor?
Of course the discussion about who Fedor would fight is completely academic as the Russian fighter recently shot the idea down.
