WKR thought it would be prudent to mention some of the rumors flying around right now about Josh Barnett and what Affliction will do now that Barnett cannot fight Fedor.
First, there is an assumption that Barnett tested positive for PED's. This hasn't been confirmed yet. MMA Weekly and Sherdog's reports only says "positive test." MMA Junkie stated that Barnett "potentially failing a drug test." Really we don't know what the positive test was for and it could be anything though with Barnett's past history it makes sense to assume PED's. Still assumption is the mother of all screw-ups so let's be patient (especially after yesterday).
There are still questions as to what will Affliction do now that their main event is in doubt.
It is currently believed that Vitor Belfort will step up and fight Fedor and Belfort's original opponent, Jorge Santiago, will have to face a yet to be determined opponent.
There is also a report that Affliction offered the fight to Bobby Lashley who promptly turned it down.
More updates as WKR gets them.

MMA Fanhouse has a quote from Tom Atencio saying that, "He[Barnett] tested positive for a banned substance."
What that banned substance is is still unknown.

Mike Straka reports that Josh Barnett did test positive for steroids.

Color me disappointed in Josh Barnett. Here’s a guy who had the biggest opportunity of his fighting career and promptly blows it.
Not only did he blow this opportunity but now it looks like he has virtually no chance of ever fighting in the U.S. again. One has to wonder if he didn’t get the memo that State Athletic Commissions are now performing pre-fight drug screenings and not just post-fight ones.
So it appears that Barnett’s screw-up has cost not only himself the biggest fight in his career, but also Affliction’s last gasp at staying afloat as this will almost surely doom them. And add Fedor to the list of those screwed as this was really the last legitimate Heavyweight challenge he had left to face outside of the UFC.
Not to mention us fans getting cheated out of a fight we’ve been clamoring to see for years, but we’re used it to right? :)

i want to see lashley vs fedor…if fedor beats belfort than it really doesnt mean much, another fedor/lindland fight.
Lashley had a really rough time with Jason Guida and you want him to fight Fedor?

Yeah and all this construction in the area too. I got a huge screw stuck in my tire last week from one of the 7 construction zones I go through to get to work.
