Joe Riggs drops out of Diaz fight

Joe Riggs is slated to fight Nick Diaz at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg this August but a new report from GracieFighter indicates that Riggs will not be fighting, 

Joe Riggs has pulled out of his fight with Nick Diaz after suffering a bad reaction to an as of yet undisclosed drug. According to sources close to the fighter, Riggs will be recovering in the hospital for the next couple of weeks and therefore unable to fight Diaz. At this time it is unclear if Riggs' problem is physical or mental. Nick Diaz however, will still be fighting on the card and it is expected that Strikeforce will be announcing Diaz's new opponent in the next couple of days.    

Gracie Fighter is the website associated with Nick Diaz's camp so this information needs to be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism. 

This would be unfortunate news for Strikeforce as it would be their second marquee fighter to drop out of the card.

MMA Fanhouse is reporting that Riggs is out. Michael David Smith also thinks that Affliction and Strikeforce should combine cards like a cheap Voltron knockoff.
