Babalu vs. Mousasi moved to Strikeforce
With Affliction's precipitous demise there was a great deal of speculation that several Affliction "Trilogy" bouts could be moved to Strikeforce's August event.
MMA Junkie has confirmed that Renato "Babalu" Sobral (35-8) vs. Gegard Mousasi (25-2-1) will fight for the Strikeforce light heavyweight title on the 15th. So far this is the only bout to have been moved from "Trilogy" to "Carano vs. Cyborg."
Sobral is the reigning Strikeforce light heavyweight champion though he hasn't defended the title since winning it in 2008.
According to MMA Junkie Mousasi will be under a new contract with Strikeforce.
The Strikeforce event was slated to have a welterweight and heavyweight title fights but both fights are now off.
Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem, withdrew from his title fight with Fabricio Werdum. Also Joe Riggs had to withdraw from his welterweight title fight with Nick Diaz. Both Diaz and Werdum are rumored to remain on the card but the inclusion of another title fight may change that.

LOVE THIS!
Not only do we still get to see this tilt, but now it’s for Babalu’s belt too… AWESOME!
Shamelessly self-promoting since 1997...
