UFC picking up "twenty" Affliction fighters?

"I'll trade you twenty fighters for twenty shirts"

WKR has an updated list here

There is a new report that the UFC has absorbed a lot of Affliction fighters,

Inside Fights has confirmed that Zuffa will absorb the contracts of about twenty fighters from Affliction Entertainment after the company agreed to stop promoting fights last week and become a UFC sponsor.

We now know two for sure, Ben Rothwell and Chase Gormley. Gegard Mousasi and "Babalu" are both headed for Strikeforce and Jay Hieron is also rumored to be headed to that promotion.

That leaves eighteen more fighters to be announced, which seems a little high. WKR will update this post with any more fighters that are picked up by the UFC.

Is Gomi still under contract to WVR or is he a free agent now the Affliction contract is gone? I hope he’s one of the 20. A motivated Gomi would be devastating in the UFC

I believe his contract with WVR expired with his last fight. I don’t know what his status with Shooto is, though. But, some fighters have migrated back and forth between Shooto and Zuffa, Marcus Galvao for instance.

i read somewhere that paul daley is probably one of the 20…could be some good matches for him in the ufc if they match him with strikers.

Count me in as someone else who would love to see the Fireball Kid in the UFC.

Question for you guys: Who would be a good first opponent for Gomi if he signed? I would love to see him fight Florian if he loses to BJ.
