UFC partnering with ESPN in the U.K.?
The Sun is reporting that the UFC is close to reaching a deal with ESPN in the U.K.,
But now, well-placed parties involved on both sides of the negotiations between ESPN and the UFC have hinted an announcement will be made by the end of this week.
We understand a deal has been agreed between the two parties and UFC president Dana White has called a press conference on Friday to announce the news.
The UFC's U.K. broadcasting rights became available when Setanta collapsed earlier this summer. ESPN was one of the sports broadcasters that seemed interested in Setanta's broadcasting rights but initial reports indicated that this interest was in the Premiership rights and the UFC rights were not on their radar.
Dana White announced a press conference for this Friday and there has been rampant speculation from Fedor being signed, to a U.S. deal with ABC, to a new U.K. broadcasting partner.
