Rumor Watch: Spencer Fisher staying in the UFC

A week ago FiveOuncesofPain.com posted a report questioning whether UFC lightweight, Spencer Fisher, was headed to the WEC. Their reasoning was a comment posted on a thread in the MMA Underground Forums attributed to Fisher.

However when WKR reached Spencer Fisher for comment he said,

"I'm under contract with the UFC so thats what im fighting in."

The initial report made little sense and FiveOuncesofPain acknowledge this fact saying,

It would be a little bit odd if Fisher switched over to the WEC following three consecutive wins in the UFC, but it would undoubtedly be a place where he would make an immediate impact, and very likely challenge for a title in the not so distant future.

For such a report to be filed under "Breaking News" is a little troubling considering that once reached for comment Fisher denied the rumor.
