M-1 is not very good at this promoting stuff
First, M-1 screws the pooch on their first U.S. event by not getting a license to promote MMA events in California to only blame it on "a partner in Los Angeles who backed out of certain commitments" whatever that means.
Now they are trashing their fighters,
Don Frye had a signed contract with M-1 and part of that signed commitment allowed us to change the venue if needed," said [M-1 COO Joost] Raimond. "From our perspective, Don should still be in this fight. However, for reasons that we aren't exactly sure of, he has backed out. Don still has not provided us with a clear reason as to why he is refusing to fight.
"We've heard rumors that he wasn't happy with the location change but our television partner, Mo Lawal, and every other fighter scheduled for the event are satisfied with Kansas City so why isn't it good enough for Don? Don also fought just a few short months ago in Lubbock, Texas. It just doesn't make sense because the old Don Frye was willing to fight anyone, anywhere, and at anytime. Perhaps the fire is gone and he underestimated the challenge that 'King Mo' presents?"
Frye was suppose to fight Mo Lawal at "Breakthrough". That duty now falls to Mark Kerr.
I know I am going out on a limber here but I think the M-1 guys aren't very good at this promoting stuff.
Any time you screw up your inaugural event by failing to file simple paper work and then decide to move it to Kansas City of all places (why, I have no idea) it might be a sign that you are not very good at your job. It's almost like Jeff Foxworthy "you know your a red neck" joke.
Also Fedor will fight Gegard Mousasi in an exhibition match.

I figured they would save Mark Kerr for Fedor :P
M1 is a joke. They have little or no talent signed. They consider themselves a powerful global promotion and they can’t get the necessary paperwork together to promote a fight?
