After much speculation, MMA Mania has confirmed that Wanderlei Silva did in fact undergo facial surgery a "medical procedure."
An announcement regarding the procedure as well as a timetable on "The Axe Murderer's" return to the Octagon is expected to be made on his official website (www.wandfightteam.com) within the next couple of days.

if it was something like removing scar tissue, you’d think they’d call it for what it is, ala nick diaz et al. guys like gatti had reconstructive surgery after having their faces literally destroyed in battle royales…of which no one would say Wand hasn’t had a few with the likes of Cro Cop etc.
