Versus and DirecTV are mad at each other

Bloody Elbow passed along this story regarding some tough negotiations with the Comcast owned Versus and DirecTV. The current deal runs out on August 31st. Those looking for more information regarding the actual dispute check out the Bloody Elbow story.

This mainly affects the WEC as the organization could lose out on being available to DirecTV's 24 million subscribers.

Same here and my two obsessions are mma and the Bruins. Can’t switch to Comcast because there is no HDNET, can’t switch to DishNetwork as there is no Versus either, Fios isn’t available here yet, and those are my options. I’m getting the shaft.

they’ll get a deal done.

Personally I feel that Comcast is trying to slowly build an ESPN-like network and they dont want to take any hits on that path.

Versus

Dish Network does have Versus but its on the Gold package which is pretty $$. I too have DirecTV and I’m looking at my options if they can’t reach a deal.
