Barnett's appeal moved to October
Remember Josh Barnett?
He was suppose to fight Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction: Trilogy. That fight never happened as Barnett tested positive for Drostanolone, an anabolic steroid, prior to the event and the California State Athletic Commission refused to license Barnett.
The positive steroid test also set in motion a series of events that lead to the demise of Affliction as a promotion and the Fedor sweepstakes. At that moment the MMA blogosphere was running 100 miles a minute and Barnett's statement of innocence and forthcoming appeal were all but forgotten. Until now.
According to Sherdog Josh Barnett is moving forward with an appeal and requested that the CSAC move his appeal date. The new date of appeal will be either October 26th or 27th.
This isn't Barnett's first run in with positive steroid tests. In 2002 he tested positive for Boldenone, Fluoxymesterone and Nandrolone in Nevada. Barnett challenged the NSAC's findings.
