Who could Fedor Fight?

"I just want to fight the best outside the UFC in the world"

"I just want to fight the best outside the UFC in the world"

Since everyone seems to be making lists about possible opponents for Fedor WKR decided we would follow the herd.

Immediate Strikeforce Opponents

  1. Brett Rogers
  2. Alistair Overeem
  3. Fabricio Werdum
Potential Future Opponents
  1. Bobby Lashley
  2. Antonio Silva
  3. Sergei Kharitonov

Opponents with Caveats

  1. Roger Gracie (if he ever decided to stop ducking people).
  2. Josh Barnett (hey they are co-promoting with Dream so we could see this in Japan).
  3. Satoshi Ishii (co-promote with Sengoku too?)
  4. Blagoi Ivanov (green prospect but still a possibility).

UFC Opponents

  1. Brock Lesnar
  2. Randy Couture
  3. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
  4. Shane Carwin
  5. Cain Velasquez
  6. Junior dos Santos
  7. Miko "Cro Cop" Filipovic

With the exception of the Lesnar fight I think that some of the competition outside the UFC is equal to what Fedor would face inside the Octagon. Of course that doesn't mean it will garner equal interest or revenue but there is a great deal of available talent outside the UFC for Fedor to fight.

agree with everything but

kharitonov isn’t an attractive opponent anymore after his loss vs. monson. monson should be on the list. i’m thinking strikeforce is going to pick him up in the near future.

the ufc competition isn’t great, fedor just simply out classes and finishes the green heavys like cain, carwin and dos santos rather easily. i think he and ko’s lesner pretty fast in tim silva like fashion. randy just doesn’t have a chance standing or on the ground vs him and cro cop and nog (twice) have already gotten whooped by him.

rogers and overeem are more intriging matches, not nearly the money of lesner but i think better fights.
