UFC 104 Press Conference Notes
There really isn't a lot of interesting information coming out of the UFC 104 press conference.
- Shogun and Machida ended up flying on the same plane from Brazil to L.A. They also sat next to one another, talk about awkward.
- Ben Rothwell appeared gleeful and very excited about the prospect of being the co-main event for a UFC PPV card.
- Cain Velasquez seemed more interested in speaking Spanish than hyping the fight (or was he hyping the fights in Spanish?). But with the UFC's plan to expand south of the Rio Grande having Velasquez and other Latino fighters on a fight card in L.A. is a smart move.
- Shogun is going to learn English.
- Lyoto Machida is a fan of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Anderson Silva.
- Dana White wasn't at the press conference, perhaps that means Dana was busy closing the rumored network deal?
- One of the best things about MMA press events is when they let the fans in. Would any other fans be allowed into a press event let alone want to go and here nondescript hyperbole. Hell and No.
- Besides we get to hear fans cheer Lyoto Machida. How freaking weird is that?
- We also found out that Shogun has been to Disney Land. And that there is no east coast west coast tension in Brazil.
