Former UFC heavyweight champion, Tim Sylvia, will fight current NAAFS heavyweight champion, Jason Riley at MMA Adrenaline IV tonight.

Tim Sylvia is facing a must situation after a disappointing first round knockout loss to Ray Mercer. Jason Riley is an unknown commodity to many MMA fans but he has some heavy hands. Riley tried out for the tenth season of The Ultiamte Fighter but did not make the cut.

WKR's money is on Riley to effectively end Sylvia's career.

You can catch MMA Adrenaline IV at the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and it will air live on HDNet starting at 10 PM ET.

I’m with you on this one. It’s another case of not knowing when to throw in the towel.

gah…he seems like a really good guy when he speaks with press and such… so i hate to bash him… but he makes some awful decisions. 4 out of last 5 fights are losses, with the only win coming from his cuddling of brandon vera against the cage for 15 minutes.

I was cage side for that cuddle session. Can’t even begin to state how frustrating that was

Punching bag

I don’t think they could have found a better guy unless they actually got a heavy bag. That guy didn’t throw anything and just let Sylvia hit him. But he got a win so he’s back right?

I don’t know what happened to Jason. I’ve seen him fight several times and that just wasn’t him.

He was up against a better fighter..

I’ve also watched Riley fight quite a bit and Tim Sylvia is still a good fighter. I mean, even taking the Mercer fight into consideration it’s not like we could learn anything from that about Tim other than 1) He wasn’t training hard 2) getting punched by a power punching heavyweight boxer flush on the chin when they’re wearing small gloves puts a man to sleep. Sylvia may no longer be a top 10 level fighter, but he’s still better than the Jason Rileys of the world.
