There's still hope! The Junkie reports WEC considering coming to Columbus
When Dana White told the press that the UFC would not return to Columbus during the Arnold Sports Festival Buckeye MMA fans almost had a collective heart attack (in this writer's case he lost 15% of his hairline).
Fear not Ohio MMA fans for all is not lost. MMA Junkie is reporting that the WEC is considering coming to Columbus in the UFC's stead. While not official the Arnold Sports Festival certainly taps into the MMA market place and would be a smart move to hold an event to coincide with the event.
The WEC did try to come to Ohio before, but they ran into poor ticket sales a bad economy, an injured main event fighter and ice motorcycle racing. Needless to say the event was moved to San Antonio, Texas.
