Kalib sighting! Starnes will fight Hector Lombard
Our namesake, Kalib Starnes, will return to fighting and face off against Bellator middleweight champion, Hector Lombard, at a Cage Fighting Championship event on Oct. 9 in Queensland, Australia.
Kalib Starnes (9-3-1) is a UFC veteran made infamous by a poor performance against Nate Quarry at UFC 83 (the event is where we got our name). Starnes has returned to fighting since that infamous event, defeating Chris Cisneros at Destiny MMA - Pier Fighter 1.
Hector Lombard (21-2-1) will return to the CFC where he won the middleweight champion and is 5-0-1 in six fights for the organization. Lombard hasn't lost since 2006 where he was defeated by Gegard Mousasi. Hector Lombard was a perfect 3-0 in Bellator's middleweight tournament and won the Bellator middleweight title against Jared Hess. Lombard is still under contract with Bellator and will fight in their second season.

I just want to take this moment to thank Kalib, as i would have never found this web site had i not searched google for the morbidly amusing quarry-starnes video.

Lombard by judo chop.
I gotta ask this question…as the Kalib vs. Quarry fight makes its way into history, has thought been given to changing the name of the site? I’m thinking from a marketability standpoint…like the name ought to have “fight” or “mma” in the name somewhere…

Fair enough. It has a certain irreverent charm to it. It won’t be long before noobs start asking “Who is Kalib, and why should I watch him run?”.
