Three's Compnay

In the "who should fight Anderson Silva debate" the UFC may find out that their hands are tied.

If the early reports about what Anderson Silva's camp want are true, then the middleweight champion won't fight Dan Henderson or Nate Marquardt unless they fight in a number one contender bout. The UFC seems to like that idea but there might be a little hiccup, Dan Henderson.

Henderson recently talked to Josh Gross and made his intentions clear. Dan wants to fight Anderson Silva and will not sign on to fight Nate Marquardt.

We might have an impasse of epic proportions. Anderson Silva may be unwilling to fight Henderson or Marquardt unless they fight each other but Dan Henderson won't fight Nate. Its a round robin from hell. For Nate's part he is really game to fight anyone but he's only 30. Compare that to Dan being 39 and Silva being 34.

Once you put age into the equation than Henderson's position is completely justifiable. Both Nate and Henderson have earned a title shot and as Dan approaches his fourth decade why would he risk that title shot for a number one contender match that probably take place on Spike.

So the question is, what happens if nobody signs on to fight one another?

Offer them more money. A lot more money.

I almost forgot. Anderson Silva is taking a sabbatical to travel to old Civil War battlefields.

little bit of a cluster for sure.

first silva should not be calling the shots by saying they should fight for right. eventhough thats what should happen, he shouldn’t be saying it. then hendo shouldn’t be dictating, hes really not in a position to do so. i love him and all but hes gotta do what dana tells him to. i think he will too without a doubt.

nate on the other hand sounds very willing to fight hendo which gets him brownie points.

id love to see nate vs hendo. they are two of my favorites and its a damn good fight. i think it should happen.

Henderson got two back-to-back title matches.

I’m sure Dana and Joe will talk sense into Silva’s camp.

Eventually this will all be figured out.

I know!

Its amazing that we forget about that. Hendo’s first two fights back in the UFC were freaking title fights at two diff weight classes.

I think Silva just wants more money. I don’t blame him. He is the bet fighter in the UFC and probably plays second fiddle in terms of pay to Randy, Brock, Chuck and others.
