Penn vs. Sanchez at UFC 107 in December, what happend to the T.V. deal?

Cage Writer passes along the news that B.J. Penn vs. Diego Sanchez will take place at UFC 107 in Memphis, Tennessee on December 12th (video after the jump).

UFC 107 features a light heavyweight fight between TUF 10 coaches Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans.

Sanchez and Penn were initially rumored to fight on the UFC 105 card but then it was rumored that they would headline a third UFC card in November, which would possibly be on network T.V.

The addition of the lightweight title fight to UFC 107 may indicate that the rumored UFC-network television deal has fallen through (again).

This is also significant news for UFC 105, which is still without a main event. Middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, made his intentions to take time off known and with the lightweight title fight at UFC 107 the U.K. fight card is still without a main event.

Earlier today news did break regarding Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Fighter's Only reported that the former Pride light heavyweight standout would make his debut at UFC 105. With the two available titles preoccupied and the televised card most likely filled, Rogerio could find himself in the main event.

no i was thinking you were implying little nog vs anderson silva.

thiago and little nog isn’t bad at all. the card still is without a main event though.

i think its shaping up as a typical uk card really. or whats become of uk cards anyway. they are getting worse with the uk tuf guys that are going to be shoved down our throats on main cards.

how about hughes vs fitch as the main event? not my cup of tea but its something.

that would be one hell of a weight cut for both guys…

i dont want to see it. i’m tired of hendo bouncing around divisions. theres plenty of light heavys around for little nog
