Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos in doubt for November
Newly crowned female Strikeforce champion, Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos may be unable to fight on Strikeforce's CBS fight card this November due to an undisclosed injury.
Cristiane's manager, Richard Wilner, talked about the injury situation to MMA Junkie,
"I'm awaiting her return from Spain to get her assessed by a doctor here," Wilner said. "Out of respect to Strikeforce, CBS and Cris' potential opponent, we alerted them to this issue early so as not to interfere with pre-production, preparation, etc."
Santos has not been ruled out but her status is classified as "unlikely."
While Strikeforce was planning to have Santos on their November 7th CBS card there is still no confirmed opponent for the Strikeforce champion.
The Strikeforce network fight card will be headlined by a heavyweight fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers. Also Jason "Mayhem" Miller will fight Jake Shields for a the newly vacated Strikeforce middleweight champion. The new Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, Gegard Mousasi, will also be on the card.

Two opposing schools of thought here.
1. Not a major loss. The card is top heavy and she would have been lost in the shuffle. It’s better for her to headline or co-headline another event.
2. And so it begins. Watch for Mousasi, Shields and maybe Rogers to all get injured within the next month. That’s typical Strikeforce luck.
