Sean Sherk Out of Another Fight
Sean Sherk is off of the UFC Versus fight card for "undisclosed reasons" though Loretta Hunt says that Sherk is injured.
Sherk (33-4-1) was suppose to fight Clay Guida (25-11) but now Shannon Gugerty (12-4) will step in to replace the former lightweight champion.
This marks the third fight in a row that Sean has withdrawn from.
Sherk was suppose to fight Gleison TIbau at UFC 104 in California --the location of his positive steroid test-- but withdrew from the bout due to a separated shoulder. Sean would be the victim of the UFC 108 "curse" as he withdrew from his fight with Jim Miller due to a cut sustained during training.
Sherk last fought at UFC 98 in May of 2009 where he lost to current number one contender Frankie Edgar.

Bummer that would’ve been a good fight well if sherk the mma fighter showed up and not the “boxer.” I got a fealing it was because they’re both have two straight loses and one more would mean bye bye for either one and the ufc doesn’t want to loose two or at least one of their marketable fighters to another org. So, either way, guida get a can and perhaps sherk will too and they’ll remain in the ufc for perhaps a future fight down the line
Call me a cynic, but when you keep pulling out of fights (thus pre and post-fight tests) and your ligaments keep failing to hold your body mass and strength, on top of failed steroid tests…do the math.
I’m totally bummed that this fight won’t happen. That would be a war, unless Sherk folded first, cause you know Guida won’t!
