Brock Lesnar is Back! Will Fight the Winner of Mir vs. Carwin

Photo

Brock Lesnar went on the 11am ET edition of SportsCenter to talk about his health and future within in the UFC.

The bottom line, Lesnar is feeling better, has returned to training and will return to the UFC to defend his heavyweight belt against the winner of Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir --which is still for the interim title-- later this year, maybe even this summer in Boston.

There were doubts about Lesnar's possible return to the sport after he was diagnosed with diverticulitis late last year. Diverticulitis is caused by inflammation, or bty a small tear in a diverticulum (abnormal pouches that form in your digestive tract). At one point Brock lost forty pounds inside the hospital as he was being fed through an IV. Lesnar said that doctors told him he needed surgery as there was a tear and surgery would cause his fighting career to end.

However Brock made a full recovery despite never undergoing surgery. Lesnar said there was no risk to his health by fighting again. Lesnar dubbed it a miracle and said, "the mind is a powerful thing" in crediting his body's ability to heal.

He used the power of mental thinking to heal himself?

Awesome! The vanilla gorilla returns. This almost makes me hope Mir wins. Almost. The other 99% of my person wants to see him utterly destroyed and left a smoking, burning wreck.

cool – now we’ll get Mir/Lesnar III and it’ll be the biggest payperview in UFC history. I know the UFC isn’t fixed – but this is almost too good to be real – it’s like Dana planned this sh!t from the start.

No way Carwin beats new Super Mir. Super Mir will crush Carwin and tap his ass out and then Super Mir will fcuking destroy ill Lesnar with ease.

I’ll reserve judgement on Super Mir until I see how he handles Carwin. The Kongo fight didn’t really show me much beyond what I already knew; Kongo has a poor ground game. If he demolishes Carwin, it obviously doesn’t bode well for Brock. We’ll see what happens.

I’m hoping it goes like this though: Feeling out period, Mir tries to utilize his boxing, rattles Carwins cage, Mir rushes in to capitalize, gets caught with massive uppercut that simultaniously knocks Mir out and sets his face on fire.

Shane Carwin winner by Shōryū-ken.

Did he do a Yes Cartwheel too?

Love him or hate him it’s good news that as a husband and a father he is healthy again.

I think it’s just as likely that when he was in Canada he used the same Canadian super soldier serum that created GSP to get better as his claim of positive thinking stitched his open digestive track back together.

Maybe the sane answer is the doctors misdiagnosed and it was just inflamed and not torn but I guess that doesn’t make a good press conference quote. :)

Canadian health care nearly killed him, you guys. Socialized medicine is the Devil!

Yeah, he’s doing a conference call now with the MMA press and is speaking on behalf of all us Americans, decrying the evil of socialized healthcare and Canada.

Brock is the voice of the common man.

Well if he starts saying Carwin or Mir can’t handle his Riddim we’ll know the truth about what happened. ;)

im still speculative of this illness. even moreso now with his miracle talk. not that im not a believer in miracles but something just aint right about all this.

I lol’d at dana’s reaction when brock dissed the CANadian HC! I hope shane beats mur’s as another mur fight wouldn’t be that interesting, although, I wouldn’t mind seeing mur’s hamburger hill face once again.

Mir would destroy Brock now

Mir took out one of the best strikers in te Heavyweight division with one punch and choked him out in seconds – does anyone see how big Mir is now?

Brock won’t have sh!t on him. Carwin or Mir would take Brock out with ease. That being said – Brock would probably beat Kongo, Dos Santos, Nogueira too. Cain is an oddity though – I see a belt in that kid’s future.
