Brock Lesnar: Loves Canada for the Hunting but Hates Canada for the Health Care

Lesnar-health_medium

Brock Lesnar and Dana White were on a conference call today to discuss Lesnar's health for the first time with the MMA media. Earlier today Lesnar went on SportsCenter to inform the public he would return to fighting and would probably fight the winner of Carwin vs. Mir, which takes place at UFC 111.

The conference call consisted of Lesnar describing the timeline of his illness and his feelings throughout the ordeal but the excerpt of the interview that will get the most play was when Lesnar talked about his time in Canada.

At one point Brock described his presence within the Canadian health care system as if he were in a "third-world country." Lesnar would leave the Canadian hospital, against orders, and his wife would drive to Bismark, North Dakota for care. Brock also called Dana White and requested that he send a jet to get him out of Canada (because every person has a jet or a person capable of driving them long distances for health care).

Lesnar would go on to say that he was not "bashing Canadian health care" (which he totally did by describing it as third-world) and commented that he loves Canada as it has, "some of the best people and hunting in the world." I am sure some Canadians are mad right now.

Finally Brock went on to talk about the current health care reform bill. Lesnar stated that he believes it needs some restructuring though not a total overhaul.

For the record Lesnar was originally diagnosed with mononucleosis ("mono") inside the States and for some reason he thought it would be a good idea to go hunting with MONO! While it ended up that Brock didn't have mono it is still a horribly irresponsible decision.

i'll bet his future fight with mir won't be held in canada

he once went off on a beer company until dana white said it was one of our sponsors. not sure if the canadian health care system is one of the ufc sponsors but a riot might unravel if lesnar said canada’s hcs was responsible for his slow recovery after a victory in say montreal?

with gsp in brett hart's corner.

mr hart might need canada’s whole health care system to fix and heal him up.

He's right...

except for the strippers, Canada does suck. Though I suppose under the right circumstances, the strippers….

Unless you’re into Hunting or Hockey, Canada blows.

I enjoyed Strange Brew quite a bit, so Canadas ok in my book.

I agree. Bob and Doug helped me through some tough nights. the drunk dog rolling up the roof in the dark makes me weep like a baby every time.

Dana’s facial expression, PRICELESS! Also, glad to see that brock will remain the HW champion of the WORLD!

Funny how it was American doctors who misdiagnosed it as mono in the first place.

Does he live in North Dakota? Because otherwise I don’t get why anyone would run to Bismark of all places for emergency medical care.

I think he lives in North Dakota

and trains in Minnesota. That’s the only logical reason he didn’t go there for medical care in the first place.

UPDATE:

The town in Canada that Lesnar where Brock was treated is rumored to be Gimli, Manitoba… population: 5800.

So yeah, totally representative of Canadian health care.

Gimli. The town is named after a character from the Lord of the Rings. It could have no healthcare system at all and still be awesome

i'm Canadian

Healthcare here is hailed as being better than the States – but yeah, if he was in some buttfcuk town in Manitoba then come on – small town hospitals are very representative of the entire country.

also – nice to see American doctors said he had mono when his intestines were about ready for a sh!tbag to be attached to them. stupid fcuks.

When Mir comes back to Lesnar he’s going to godd@mn obliterate his ignorant ungrateful douched anus.

You wouldn't get treated for diverticulitis on a walk-in basis in Canada

and he is almost certainly exaggerating how bad it was. People have diverticulitis for YEARS without knowing it pretty often. His may have gotten suddenly worse but it wouldn’t kill him over-night. It wouldn’t be the type of thing that requires an urgent treatment, so he’d be sidelined and stuck waiting in a nice fat queue.

Gimme 1 round!

as someone who worked in an Emergency Room the triage would’ve chained if he was suffering from abscess, which he was, as he would have been suffering from a lot of pain.

My feeling is that he thought he was going to get the VIP treatment because of who he is (in the US he would have paid for it, and probably did in Bismark) and no such thing happened. He got in line just like everybody else, got tested just like everybody else and waited just like everybody else. That pissed him off and said: “Honey, this place sucks, drive me to the US”

And his whole rant is just politically motivated, I am pretty sure he didn’t get that bad of care…

My sources say it was a plot to end Lesnar’s career, orchestrated by none other than Harold Howard. The hour of the mullet’s return draws nigh!
