UFC 113 Moved to May 8th
UFC 113 in Montreal, Canada will be moved back one week from May 1st to May 8th.
Rumors of a possible shift in dates began with the news that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will fight Shane Mosley on May 1st.
Ironically the UFC had booked extra dates at the Bell Centre in Montreal for fear that UFC 113 would go head-to-head with a boxing mega fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. While only half of that fight materialized the UFC is still withdrawing from the May 1st date.
That didn't stop Dana White from lobbing verbal grenades at boxing when he talked to Cage Writer:
"We were trying to not go the same night as boxing but these [expletive] guys can't get out of their own way," White told Cagewriter. "I have never seen anything so unorganized, selfish and dysfunctional as boxing. It's a joke!"
That's a lot of bravado from someone who is retreating from their booked date. Well, I am sure Dana White would say, "We're not retreating, we're just advancing in a different direction!"
The last time the UFC went head-to-head with a Floyd Mayweather headlined pay-per view it was back in September at UFC 103. That event was crushed in the pay-per view returns as the Mayweather fight drew upwards of a million buys while UFC 103 did 375,000.

WTF? Isn’t he the one who is always saying that boxing is dead and that MMA doesn’t need to compete with boxing? He should have left the date as is and stacked the card even more.If in fact “they [boxing] can’t get out of their own way”, why accomodate them by changing your own, previously-announced date?
